Disodium 2-sulfolaurate is a 100% biodegradable, natural anionic surfactant. A natural, innovative, very mild anionic surfactant suitable for solid, rinse-off products Disodium 2-sulfolaurate is suitable for tear-free formulas. Recommended for use in baby care and cleaning, shampoos, facial cleansers, liquid soaps, toothpaste/mouthwash and shower/bath products.

In cosmetics, disodium 2-sulpholaurate can be used both as a primary surfactant and as a secondary surfactant, which, when combined with other detergents, improves the foaming properties of cosmetic products and mitigates the effects of other more aggressive detergents on the skin. It is used as a micellar thickener. It is extremely gentle on skin and mucous membranes. It offers a creamy and rich foam and improves the conditioning performance of cationic polymers in shampoos. This surfactant maintains long-term stability over a wide temperature and pH range. The product can be used in cold environments where it is easy to prepare the mixture. By using D2S in the formulations, it allows the strongly cationic polymers to perform their function on the hair. It protects the hair and maintains a healthy scalp. It is used in shampoos, bath foams and liquid hand soaps. Creates a creamy thick foam, resulting in both a thicker texture and a better product experience. The recommended use concentration is between 0.5% and 30%.

• Disodium 2-sulfolaurate is not only an ESPECIALLY CLEAN, innovative anionic surfactant based on sustainable, RSPO-certified renewable resources, it is also a NEW and excellent alternative to sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI).
• The product is extremely gentle on the skin and eyes, making it particularly suitable for delicate baby skin and tear-free shampoo formulas.
• It produces a highly porous, stable and creamy foam suitable for body washing.
• Disodium 2-sulfolaurate is extremely stable in terms of storage and temperature and can therefore be used over a wide pH range.
• It is 100 per cent biodegradable and suitable as an alternative to surfactants containing sulphate.
• The product enhances the positive effects of cationic polymers in shampoos and has been shown to facilitate detangling, even when added to polymer-free formulas.
• D2S is suitable for tear-free formulas. A baby shampoo with D2S (10.3%) has been clinically evaluated, with the result that it is "non-irritating to the eyes" and can be called "tear-free".
• The skin irritation potential of D2S is extremely low!
• Disodium 2-sulfolaurate is certified by ECO LABEL as organic and suitable for use in toothpaste formulations.
