Polycarboxylate 445 is a fully neutralized liquid polymer for a wide range of laundry applications, providing excellent properties such as crystal growth inhibition and deposit dispersion. It is also intended for industrial dishwashing, providing excellent properties such as crystal growth inhibition, sediment and dirt dispersion.

In the cleaning industry polycarboxylate 445 is used as an additive to make fabrics cleaner, brighter and cleaner, regardless of the water hardness. It is also used in dishwashing detergents where it prevents the formation of deposits on surfaces and helps to stabilize the result in areas where water quality is variable. For optimum performance, this polymer should be used at 250 to 1000 ppm for soaking (domestic) and 100 to 500 ppm for industrial applications. This is typically equivalent to 2-6% (as is) in liquid form.

In school experiments it is used to better represent dispersive systems and their interactions. Also in crystal growth, both to reduce the growth of crystals and to change their growth rate.
