Acids
Acids are inorganic and organic compounds that change the pH of water. Acids have a pH range of 1 to 7. Acids can be of different nature: sulphur, phosphorus, carbon, chlorine, nitrogen. Correspondingly, the names sulphonic, phosphonic, carbonic/carboxylic, nitric acids or their derivatives with the corresponding functional groups are common.
