CORROSION INHIBITOR NF, L

Corrosion Inhibitor NF is a water-based organic (OAT technology) highly effective corrosion inhibitor concentrate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in contact with neutral and alkaline aqueous solutions. Anticorrosive agent for the temporary protection of metals against atmospheric corrosion. The inhibitor does not contain nitrites, amines, phosphates, borax, silicates and 2-ethylhexanoate.

It can be added directly to the solution to be treated, without any pre-mixing or neutralization step. Indicative application rates (% by weight of total final solution)

- Cleaning agents and/or degreasing agents: 1 to 2 % depending on pH.

- Temporary protection: 4 to 10 %, depending on the expected duration of protection.

Where the product is used for temporary protection only, it should be diluted in soft or distilled water and applied to metallic substrates:

- by immersion ;

- by spraying (depending on the spray pressure, the use of an anti-foaming agent may be recommended)

- or by brush.

Storage and transport: Ideal storage temperature: -5 to 30 °C in original packaging. Avoid direct sunlight.

Operation at different pH (adjustment with NaOH) :

Multi-metallic protection

Method: IP329; 50 °C, 330 h

Medium: deionized water, pH≈9 adjusted with NaOH if necessary.

Galvanic protection

Method:ASTM D1384

Medium: corrosive mixture of water and EG (see standard).

Aluminium protection in the base medium

Method: IP329; 50 °C, 330 h

Medium: deionized water, pH≈12-13 adjusted with NaOH.

Copper alloy protection

Method: ASTM D130, 3 hours, 100 °C

Material: hydrosoluble oil, ready for use.

Comparative test with azoles :

BZT: pure benzotriazole; TT: pure tolitriazole

Protection against atmospheric corrosion

Method: climate chamber, 25 °C, 100 % humidity

Substrate : Mild steel or copper 99 % immersed for a few minutes in a solution containing an inhibitor.
