Corrosion inhibitor FE is a water-based organic (OAT technology) highly effective corrosion inhibitor concentrate for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It has been developed as a complete replacement for oil-based preventive measures for the protection of metallic equipment and components indoors. In combination with metalworking solutions, it also protects metals during short or long immersion. The inhibitor is free of nitrites, amines, phosphates, borates, silicates and 2-ethylhexanoate.

Mainly used for:

  • Synthetic or semi-synthetic water-soluble lubricants and metalworking fluids;
  • Water-soluble hydraulic fluids;
  • Coolants or antifreeze.
  • Temporary protection of metal equipment or components during transport and dry storage.
  • Protection against sudden corrosion during machining with high pressure systems.
  • Protection of metallic equipment during hydrostatic testing.
  • Protection of metallic equipment during prolonged contact with static aqueous solution: pipes during periods of inactivity, tanks, containers,... Can also be used for:
  • Other metalworking solutions (degreasing, stripping, polishing, pressure cleaning, ...);
  • Neutral and alkaline detergents.

For optimum performance, the pH of the final solution must be above 7.

Metalworking fluids

Corrosion inhibitor FE shall be added to water-soluble lubricant concentrates or ready-to-use solutions to give a final dosage between 50 and 5000 ppm, depending on the formulation, its pH and the nature of the metal to be protected.

Temporary protection

Corrosion inhibitor FE can be applied by spraying, by immersion in water after dilution or in the last bath of metalworking (washers, rinse tanks, etc.). The dosage ranges from 2 to 15%, depending on the duration of protection required.

Hydrostatic tests

Corrosion inhibitor FE shall be diluted in the water used for the test at a rate of 0,05 % to 0,2 % depending on the metals to be protected and the duration of the test.

Other applications

Corrosion inhibitor FE shall be added to water-based solutions at a dosage of 0,7 to 2 % depending on the nature of the solution and the metals to be protected.

Where the product is used only for temporary protection, it should be diluted in soft or distilled water and applied to metal substrates:

- by immersion ;

- by spraying (depending on the spray pressure, the use of an anti-foaming agent may be recommended)

- or by brush.

Product characteristics:

  • Completely water-soluble liquid
  • Non-flammable
  • Free of volatile organic compounds
  • Free of boron, phosphate, molybdate, silicate and nitrite
  • Effectively protects copper and alloys
  • Effectively protects aluminum and alloys in contact with alkaline solutions
  • Made only from materials authorized for use in food contact cleaners*
  • Protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Protects against steel corrosion
  • Forms a hydrophobic film on the metal surface that can be applied with conventional paint systems
  • Stable in hard water
  • Meets PMUC standard**
