Tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether is a low-volatile, non-flammable, colourless, clear, ether-smelling and oil-smelling liquid. It can be washed off surfaces with water and soap. Stainless steel is recommended for valves, pumps and filters. Teflon is suitable for gaskets. N, butylene polymers and neoprene swell in contact with glycol ether TPM.

In cosmetics, PPG-3 methyl ether is a colourless liquid with a mild, pleasant odour. It is often used in cosmetic products because it has a wide range of viscosity and solubility properties and is very well tolerated by the skin. As a water-soluble, non-greasy ingredient, glycol ether TPM is suitable for many cosmetic applications. In cosmetics and personal care products, this ingredient is used as a solvent in hair sprays. It can also be used in hair dyes, cleansers and other products. Tripropylene glycol methyl ether TPM has a very low volatility and evaporates slowly. In 3D printing, tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether (TPM) dissolves the liquid resin and can be used to wash parts printed with 3D printers. Depending on the application and the working environment, TPM may be a suitable alternative to isopropyl alcohol (IPA). A widely accepted use of TPM solvent is for cleaning stereolithography (SLA) resins from printed parts after 3D printing. Used to remove excess TPM resin from parts prior to UV curing. This is often done by immersion in a solvent bath. TPM solvent is a safer, non-flammable, low VOC and highly effective option for post-processing cleaning of SLA resins.
