Ethoxylated C10 alcohols with 9 EO is a non-ionic surfactant obtained by reacting 9 moles of ethylene oxide with a base of 2-propylheptanol. This particular range of ethylene oxide has a wide range of applications, particularly in washing and wetting. The product has good environmental properties and is readily biodegradable. It is used as a basic ingredient in cleaning agents, detergents, textiles and agrochemicals and as an emulsifier in industry

In agriculture, C10 Guerbet Alcohol Ethoxylated 9 mol is used in the spraying of fields and plants with a variety of products to increase the efficiency of foliar uptake. It moistens the leaf surface, making it easier for the sprayed product to adhere and remain on the leaf, thus increasing contact time and uptake efficiency. At the same time, it allows a more even distribution of the active substances, which are often hydrophobic and tend to persist. It has the advantage over other ethoxylated alcohols of being biodegradable, having not only emulsifying properties (allowing fatty derivatives to mix in water) but also dispersing properties (breaking down the adhering particles to the finest particle). The use of this material as a wetting agent thus improves the properties of the active components, as they do not stick to the walls of the spray gun, but are crushed from standing and distributed throughout the sprayed solution. Recommended rates: 0.1% working solution (150-300ml/ha). Optimum pH 5-8.

In the cleaning industry, ethoxylated alcohols C10 EO9 are used in the production of hard surface cleaners, strong-acting cleaners and acid concentrates. Due to their strong wetting properties and good emulsifying properties, they are excellent at allowing the water and the grease phase to mix, thus facilitating cleaning processes. Due to its limited foaming properties, it is well suited for use in carpet cleaning, fabric cleaning, soaking baths etc. Due to its excellent biodegradability, it is ideal for use in cleaning products that are used outdoors and may leach into the environment. . It works well in reducing and oxidizing environments, acid baths, neutral baths, dilute alkali solutions and hard and cold water. Works well in mixtures with other non-ionic and ionic surfactants. It has a very high resistance to acids and alkalis. In addition, it has limited foaming, good solubility in water and weak alcohols (e.g. methanol) as well as in acetone. In paints and coatings, ethoxylated alcohols of Guerbet C10 are used to increase the wetting effect of the surface in order to achieve better adhesion to the surface, while at the same time facilitating the mixing of the fatty phase ingredients with the aqueous phase ingredients.
