The flower extract of chamomile (Matricaria recutita) has anti-inflammatory properties. It is therefore commonly used to reduce inflammatory processes in the skin and to soothe sensitive skin. The extract contains flavonoids, which are beneficial for the care of sensitive skin. These flavonoids are often used in the treatment of dermatitis by inhibiting the release of histamine, which causes redness and irritation. The extract is also rich in B vitamins, which make chamomile extract soothing, moisturizing and antibacterial. The antiseptic and therapeutic properties of this substance are provided by phenolic derivatives.

In cosmetics, this plant extract is used in the production of natural cosmetics. Chamomile petal extract contains flavanoids, coumarins, essential oils of complex composition, carotene, vitamins (C, B5) and a high content of trace elements. Chamomile petal extract has a soothing, anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, softens and cleanses the skin, gives it a velvety softness, stimulates the epidermal regeneration processes. Particularly suitable for sensitive skin. For bathing treatments, 45-50 ml of the extract should be added to the bathing water. For hand and foot baths, the water is prepared at a best temperature of 38 °C. Add 45-50 ml of the extract to the water (shaken well using a bottle). The hands are soaked up to the middle of the upper arm and kept for 10-15 minutes. At the end of the procedure, the hands should be rinsed with cold water. Contrast baths are used to harden the hands. The hands are immersed alternately in warm and then in cold water. For the feet, hot water is prepared and 45-50 ml of extract is added. After sitting comfortably and relaxing, the feet are immersed in the hot water bath with the extract for 20 minutes. When the water has cooled slightly, hot water is added. This is a good way to warm the feet when the person is very cold or overheated. After this treatment, the feet are wiped. The cool baths harden the legs and reduce varicose veins.
