It is dried sodium coconut sulphate in the form of needles. It is ideal for use as a foaming and moisturising agent in oral care products and as an excipient in pharmaceutical products. It is manufactured specifically in accordance with the requirements of the US Pharmacopoeia (USP40/NF35) and the European Pharmacopoeia, 9th edition monographs for sodium coconut sulfate. It is a highly effective anionic surfactant with high foaming and excellent cleaning properties, especially in soft water. It also has strong emulsifying properties and low free alkalinity.
Product benefits:
- Very good washing, cleaning, emulsifying and wetting properties,
- excellent foaming properties,
- high compatibility with other ingredients in the formula,
- Efficacy in liquid and powder formulations,
- wide range of applications in cosmetics and detergents,
- Effective performance under both alkaline and acidic pH conditions,
- 100% natural origin, expressed in terms of renewable carbon index. s:
- These ingredients are also COSMOS approved,
- EO surfactant free:
In cosmetics, sodium coco sulphate (SCS) is used as an anionic surfactant commonly found in skin care and personal care products as it cleanses the skin, emulsifies formulas and helps to create foam. Due to its cleansing properties, it is often included in rinse-off products such as facial cleansers. It is an excellent alternative to SLES (sodium lauryl ethoxy sulphate) or SLS (sodium auryl sulphate) because of its gentler properties. Sodium coco sulphate is the ester version of sodium salt sulphate, combined with the fatty acids found in coconut oil. This distinguishes it from sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), which uses only the lauric acid found in coconut oil. Because of this slight difference, sodium coconut sulphate is much milder than sodium lauryl sulphate and is often used as a substitute in formulas aimed at avoiding any possible skin irritation. In addition to skin care, sodium coco sulphate is also present in hair and body care products that focus on cleansing, such as body washes and shampoos. It is also the only solid surfactant of all the solid surfactants tested that allows for the proper formulation of an effective solid shampoo. The consistency of aqueous solutions is easily controlled by adding a small amount of salt solution. Its functions (INCI):
- Surfactant : Reduces cosmetic surface tension and contributes to the even distribution of the product during use.
In the cleaning industry, SCS is used for mild cleaning of surfaces. Its properties make it particularly suitable for use in car shampoos (especially hand shampoos), in all-purpose cleaners and in special purpose cleaners. Its high foaming power, good degreasing effect and gentleness make it indispensable for workers.
In veterinary medicine, SCS is used in animal shampoos, coat care products, because its mildness makes it ideal for removing dirt from the coat and does not harm the hair follicles. SCS is used as a safer and gentler alternative to SLES and SLS detergents. Commonly found in higher end products.
